My friend and I had a terrific dinner here the other night prior to a show at the Centennial Theater nearby. We ordered a sushi combo platter (variety of sushis) and an order of tempura vegetables and prawns, and we were shocked - literally shocked - how fast our meals came out. And the sushi was fresh and tasty, and the tempura was perfectly cooked and delicious.
(I see other reviewers commented negatively on the sashimi, but we didn't order that, so I can't talk to the quality of the sashimi. But the sushi was really good).
Our server was sweet and friendly and very attentive. And we couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were here. Our dinner came to $14 for the both of us combined, and in total $20 with the tip. And we were stuffed.
And our meals came with tea, too.
Can't beat that. -

This sushi is very "get what you pay for" value.
The sashimi isn't fresh, and tastes a bit icy. But the price.... The price can't be beat!
The service is really good as well. My food came fast and our server was sweet. The sushi is pretty yummy, I was just a bit disappointed by the sashimi.
If you're looking for something cheap on Lonsdale, check this place out. -

Service was abysmal. Had to ask for things 3 or 4 times. Restaurant was half empty but it took forever. We had a friend coming and asked for an additional setting (chopsticks and a napkin) for half an hour. Friend finally arrived, went to get her own and the waitress materialized and tried to snatch it out of her hand. As if someone was coming off the street to steal a disposable chopsticks and cheap paper napkin.
Some of the rolls had a decent taste, but WAAAAY to much rice, and the construction was terrible. Literally they were falling apart. Had to eat some of them with a spoon. Absolutely zero skill from the Chinese chefs. My wife's chirashi sashimi was mediocre, the surf clam was kinda stinky (a usual fav) and the mackerel was inedible. All the fish had a weird glaze to it. Gross.
We asked for separate bills once, okay', then twice, okay! then finally I got up and demanded the bill. At this point the restaurant was empty and they gave us one bill. Came to $60 for a small meal for the 2 of us. That's $20 more for the same order versus sushi man on marine. Which is WAAAY better.
Gross, bad service, sloppy rolls and a good half kilo of wasted rice on our table when we were done. Never again.
Try sushi man on marine for cheap great sushi, or hatchi Hanna down the block for amazing stuff. This place is only in business because of high school students. Enough said. -

I wonder if those who have comment the food is good here have ever had sushi before. The sashimi here really really sucks. Not refresh and I can tasty the ice within the meat. I was worried for my life that I would get food poisoned. I have literally never been to a sushi place that sucks this much despite being warned by my bf beforehand. If you value your life or quality of life, please think twice before trying.

The food is very good for the price.
The service and cleanliness of the restaurant is not so great. Often only one person and the bathroom is usually gross.
I keep going there for pick up only
